FAQ
The basics
What is Playground?
A niche micro festival: three days of high-quality underground music, ideas and people in the hills outside Bangkok.
It's private and deliberately small. It isn't a rave to get wrecked at; it's a gathering of curious, generous, high-caliber people who come to listen, take part and look after each other.
How do I get in?
Playground is private and invite-only. Everyone who came last year is invited automatically: sign in to the portal with the email you used last year and tell us whether you're in.
New faces come in through someone who's already coming. Once a member has paid, they can Pass a Note to one friend from their portal. An organizer reviews each note before the invite goes out.
Don't know anyone yet? Knock on the gate: tell us who you are and what you'd bring to recess. The Yard Monitors read every permission slip.
What's the program?
Three days of music, ideas and people. Last year went roughly like this, and we expect a similar shape:
- Friday night: the warm-up. Laid-back sounds and lots of good humans to meet.
- Saturday daytime: sleep in, then optional workshops and open, participant-led chats.
- Saturday late afternoon: pool party into sunset, then the main event until morning.
Nothing is mandatory. Pool, nap or chill is fully valid. The full schedule and lineup will be shared closer to the date.
Can I run a workshop or a talk?
Yes, please. Daytime sessions are proposed by the people coming. Join a crew in your portal or drop the idea in the Suggestion Box, and we'll help you find a slot.
Invited already?
Where are the venue, rooms, travel and contribution details?
In your portal. Once you're invited, sign in and open the FAQ there for the venue, rooms, getting there, contributions and payment.
Good to know
What should I bring?
- Dress as if you're going to a festival. If your outfit makes someone laugh or adds a bit of randomness, even better.
- A swimsuit and towel for the pool, and comfortable clothes for movement workshops.
- Something warm. Nights in the hills get chilly, surprising as that sounds for Thailand.
What are the house rules?
Look after each other, ask before you touch or film anyone, and no stunts: nothing that turns into an injury or stress for the staff and venue. Use common sense. The School Nurse is on site if anyone needs help, with no judgement.
What if I have kids?
Write to us at hello@theplayground.casa. We'll figure something out depending on your situation.
